Sister Susan H. Porter of the Primary General Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints tells the story of a man who came from a family committed to the gospel but who fell away from church activity. He decided to meet with two couples who were close friends and active Church members. He planned to discuss questions about the Church that he had difficulty understanding. During their gathering, he experienced profound love from his guests, their conversation, and their kindness. He said a bright light within him came and filled him with the love of God. He had an impression that he could return to church and tell others what he experienced.
