The biggest thing to happen to family history in ten years: the 1950 U.S. Census is now available on Ancestry! The Barefoot Genealogist, Crista Cowan, shares the latest on the 1950 census.

This week, indexes from South Dakota, Rhode Island and the islands of Midway, Wake, and Canton are available; joining Alaska, American Samoa, Delaware, Guam, Virgin Islands, New Hampshire, Panama Canal, Wyoming and Vermont.

Crista is joined by professional genealogist Nicka Sewell-Smith to discuss where you may find your Native American ancestors in the 1950 Census, in the soon to be indexed “Indian Reservation Schedules.”
